One of my favorite fall pictures because of the way it incorporates the shadows and light into the pictures overall statement . Its the perfect balance between the complex , and simple story of fall. With the tree in shade spreading its orange yellow leaves into the sun as if to show its awareness of whats really going on here.
I have walked this trail in spring. I have walked this trail in summer. I have walked this trail in fall. I have walked this trail in winter snow. This view speaks to me of the trails we as humans walk in our lives. Hopefully we arent wasting time and we are making progress. Hikers going somewhere dont carry undo load. We must leave drama behind and press on.
Throughout our natural world we see road signs of the eternal , pointing us onward. Testament to the ever lasting mercies of the loving Creator. Here we see rooting deep and strong. We we see nourishment. We see covering and shelter. We also see fences to partition off the wandering distractions. Centered under it all is the bench for rest , much needed for the journey we all must embark upon. , just as the salmon must push on upstream.
As fall comes the leaves turn yellow and orange. This is a time of change , as the winter chill is in the morning air. The faint smell of morning wood smoke from wood stoves fills the air. The forest is active with squirrels storing up for winter and the birds filling ones ears with the heralding call of fall. This is a seasons change filled with so much splendor.
